Born and raised in Birmingham in a family of trades men after my stepdad passed away and my mother got ill, I became a man at 16 looking after my ill mother and two younger brothers. With no money coming in and needing to survive as a family I was introduced to plastering by my grandad and uncle who used to take me on site to earn myself some cash.
From doing these odd jobs on site I developed an interest in carpentry & joinery, & with the money earned I paid myself through college and managed to secure myself an apprenticeship with a well-known firm to serve five years in carpentry & joinery which I passed with flying colours to earn myself a City & Guilds Carpentry & joinery, level 2&3 NVQ.
Following on from my studies I joined a fit-out firm who specialised in new build houses where I gained a lot of experience in all aspects of carpentry, kitchens and bathrooms. Although I really enjoyed my time at this firm I knew it was only a stepping stone to where I wanted to be and there was a lot more skills I needed to learn, so my hunger and passion for the trade led me into the commercial side where I landed a job at a well known decorated shopfitting company. Here I would continue to work as a fitter all over the UK and Europe building myself up and gaining my qualifications to become site manager and leading my own team.
From the experience gained throughout the years from when I was working with grandad as a plasterer right up to running my own jobs as a site manager, I decided to start my own company and that’s where RC4 Interior and Building Solutions was born.
